How do I know if we will be a good fit?
This is an excellent question! Finding a counselor or consultant that "feels right" is very important. Therefore, we offer a free 30-minute consultation appointment, if necessary, so you may ask questions and decide if this is the right fit for you.
How often will I need to come?
Another very important question! (You're good!) The length and frequency of counseling services varies depending upon the severity, complexity and the duration of the existing problem.
Short term counseling can last between 3-6 months and/or up to 8-10 sessions when the issues being treated are specific and recent. However, for long term problems or ones that are more complex, counseling can take 8-12 months or, in some cases, longer.
Typically, we review our progress every session and will support our clients in making decisions regarding continuing care based on both their health and their resources. We try very hard not to create financial hardship for clients who are already feeling challenged in their lives.
Do you do phone or Skype sessions?
Not at this time.
Do you accept my Insurance?
Currently, I am on the panels of ACI Specialty Benefits and Ceridian. Otherwise, KGM Counseling & Consulting is an out of network provider and does not bill insurance directly at this time. However, we are working on this and will be updating this site as we progress.
Until that time, clients are responsible for payment at time of service.
How do I seek reimbursement from my insurance company?
Clients who have "out of network benefits" are usually able to obtain reimbursement directly from their insurance companies. I will provide you with a standard insurance claim form or a "Superbill", upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company. You will need to negotiate directly with your insurance company for reimbursement for the counseling fees. However, I will assist you in your efforts whenever possible. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by calling your insurance provider prior to your first visit.
What questions do I ask my insurance company?
You could start by asking the following questions:
• Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
• Do I have out of network provider benefits?
• What is my deductible and has it been met?
• How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
•What is my coverage for out of network providers?
• Is approval required from my primary care physician?
I would be happy to assist you in contacting your insurance company, if needed, or provide you with any information about me that your insurance company requests.
What are your rates?
Diagnostic Assessment: $180 per session
Individual Counseling: $120 per session.
Group Counseling: $ 60 per session
*Individual Coaching: $ 80 per session.
*Group Consultation/Training: Varies.
*It is important to note that Consulting and Coaching are not counseling nor psychotherapy and, as such, are not covered by insurance companies. These services will also require payment at time of service and are not reimbursable.

Payment
Payment is expected at time of service. We accept only cash or credit cards.
Cancellation Policy
If you do not show for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you may be required to pay the full cost of the session.
